About Your Guide – Nigel Homer
I am a former history teacher with commercial experience in industry. I became a tour guide in 2016 and set up Homer’s Odysseys in 2017. I specialise in walking tours in London and across the UK and, occasionally, in Paris, France.
London has been my home for over 25 years and I love this remarkable city. I have travelled and guided around most of the UK and have gained an in depth knowledge of this country’s many attractions and can also take you to the beautiful, quieter places away from the traditional tourist hotspots.
My passions are history, music, photography, theatre and all kinds of sport. I love travelling and enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and cultures. I have been fortunate enough to visit over 70 countries and have met and worked with some of the best tour guides in the industry.
My aim is to make every tour both interesting and fun and I really enjoy finding the right mix of knowledge, culture and humour to ensure that everyone enjoys the experience and wants to come back for more.
We tour at a relaxed pace but we will also try to see as much as possible in the time available and the more questions the better!
Before you arrive, I will be in contact so that we can put together a unique tour experience for you and your fellow travellers. If you need recommendations for accommodation and places to eat, I can provide them so do not hesitate to ask the question.
For any French speakers, I have good conversational French and regularly conduct tours in this language.
I hope to meet you on a Homer’s Odyssey soon.

What’s in a name?
Homer was an ancient Greek poet famous for writing his epic poem, The Odyssey, which tells the story of the journey of his hero Odysseus. There is no family connection with this chap or with Homer Simpson incidentally!
